Hey all
New to the forum, but I've been lurking for about a month now. lol
Primarily into paper stocks, except for below.... Just bought some british gold sovereigns to collect/invest. Should be here in a week or two. 1 is a 1901 Queen Victoria, and the other is a 1906 King Edward VII. My first gold coins. Might buy a few more over time. :) I have some gold jewelry I bought years ago. 1 piece is almost pure and 13.5 grams. It was custom made by a friend. The color gives it away. It is significantly darker than 10k and 14k commercially made rings. I'd peg this at about 22-23k. (he melted a fair amount of scrap gold to make this ring) That's it for my physical gold so far. Gotta start somewhere. :hahaha: |

Re: Hey all
Every cloud has a silver lining huh. lmao
I'm actually more into stocks than physical metals. (ya ya I know, lol) Funny though, I was looking at some silver bars on the net the other day......... ya never know. |
Re: Hey all
Just my thoughts here! A numeristic coin is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. In an emergency and times are tough, suppose I have a three karat diamond I need to sell fast to put food on the table or something? How would a buyer make change or value that diamond? Same thing applies to a numeristic collectors coin. Silver and gold content, and identifiable is the key to liquidity (liquidity= easily bought, sold and exchanged).
